Rolf Maeder

To me, photography is an exploration of the unknown,
discovering shapes, colors and the dynamic play of elements
finding new points of view every time I look.

Up to 1999, I enjoyed working as a professional French Horn player and choir director in Switzerland. A desire for a new experience of life brought me to the United States where I made my home in Sedona, Arizona. The untamed landscape of this enchanting place was a natural fit to my sensibilities.  I was  inspired by the dynamic play of nature and I began taking photographs.
In 2014, after this great time in the US, I decided to move back to Switzerland, where I’m living now in the beautiful countryside of the Basel Jura, and music and photography can now dance together in my life.
